HELP FUND MY KICKSTARTER!
In 2003, I accidentally became a regular at INVITE THEM UP, a weekly show hosted by Eugene Mirman & Bobby Tisdale. STORIES FROM THE ROOM will bring together my photos, memories from the people who were there + the history of NYC's emerging "indie" comedy scene. WHY A ZINE?
Much of NYC’s history is well preserved, but COMEDY history disappears FAST. Shows end, venues close, and important stories get lost in memories, old photos, and boxes of stuff. These stories deserve to be preserved—not just as nostalgia, but as a record of the people & community that helped shape NYC comedy..
This zine is part of my larger journey of pursuing a Master’s in Library & Information Science with a focus in Archives and Museums. It's the first step toward my larger goal of creating an accessible archive of NYC comedy history. A place for comedy nerds to call home!
